KAZAJAK – Urban Rebel PR Interview
A rising star in the electronic music world, French-based KAZAJAK is looking to make people dance with his infectious sound. Recently releasing a single on Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s label Smash Deep, the young artist is taking all the right steps towards success. We sat down with him to get all the information on where he’s headed, what drives him and what excites him the most.
As a new name to the industry what excites you the most about it all?
What drives me most is creating new sounds. When I start a track and see that it has potential, and then the final result is satisfying, there’s nothing more exciting than that feeling. To have created music with your own hands that fits your artistic universe. And then I can’t even explain what it’s like when we play that track live, haha!
What inspired you to chase a career in music?
I am currently still a student, but this is a career path that is becoming increasingly appealing to me. It is simply my dream job because of the human contact and interaction with the public that can occur during shows.
What are your main inspirations in terms of your sound?
I am very inspired because I listen to new music every day. When I was young, I was fascinated by Martin Garrix and his beautiful string melodies. Today, I am always fascinated by intricate melodies like those of RÜFÜS DU SOL or The Blaze.
I’m also very drawn to artists with powerful sounds like Swedish House Mafia, Odymel, Lost Frequencies, GENESI, and Miss Monique, who have an incredible talent for blending powerful sounds with captivating melodies.
You’ve recently had a release on Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s Smash Deep record label titled ‘Be Mine’. What does it feel like to release with such an established name?
It’s simply incredible to see that a song you composed in your bedroom has been released and distributed by an international label. It gives you strength for the future and motivates you to produce even more and even better.
Can you talk us through the creative process of ‘Be Mine’?
The inspiration for ‘Be Mine’ came directly from the voice. When I found that voice, I started composing the melodies and everything came naturally. I wanted to keep a powerful drop.
You also love to remix some of the most popular tracks in both electronic and commercial music. How does your creative process differ when you’re making your own tracks versus remixing others?
The difference is huge. When I remix a song, I often have a clear idea of the structure and what I want to produce. Sometimes, when I compose my own track, I know where I’m going, but I’m not sure, everything can change at any moment. I’m just focused on the style of the track.
What is your dream collaboration?
I have so much dream collaborations, haha! Currently I think that a collaboration with the Swedish House Mafia will be just unbelievable!
What festivals or venues around the world are on your bucket list to perform at?
Obviously, like many other DJs, my dream is to be able to mix on a Tomorrowland stage. But right now, my goal is just to play where my music will be well received and where I can convey the messages I want to convey. Being French, I’m aiming for a lot of festivals in France, but I won’t stop at my own country 😉
What are your main goals right now?
Right now, my main goal is to be heard by as many people as possible and to play all over the world in order to spread my music internationally and make everyone who wants to dance.
What else does 2025 have in store for you?
A lot of surprises I hope! I have quite a few tracks that I’d like to release on labels, and I hope I’ll make as many people as possible who come to my shows happy.
