Raphaella’s original releases are just as mesmerising as her collaborative ventures, with latest single ‘Holla At Me’ sending deep house lovers into a pure euphoria overload.

In between studio time, we put UR 10 questions to Raphaella.

1. Describe your sound in 3 words

Oontz oontz baby!

2. Is there one song/album or artist from your teenage years which stands out?

I think probably Brandy’s ‘Afrodisiac’ – she’s my absolute favourite vocal producer and I’ve learned so much about harmony from her.

3. If you had to pick a career in any other music genre except electronic dance music, what genre would that be and why?

Probably neo-classical / film scores. I actually grew up playing in orchestras and started in classical music playing the violin, piano and I absolutely love listening to composers like Max Richter and Nils Frahm. I still sometimes will sit and score or transcribe something for fun.

4.What’s on your bucketlist?

To be able to play a live show in my hometown Esfahan Iran. It’s currently illegal for women to sing or dance in public and I can’t go back to Iran because I’ve been quite vocal advocating for human rights, but one day I will for all of the women and men fighting for freedom.

5.What is your favourite tour snack?

I’m such a boujie desperado for Kettle Chips!

6.One thing you’re looking forward to this year or one goal you’ve set yourselffor the future?

I’m going to put on a solo show in the next couple of months to really introduce people to me, my sound and my heritage. It’s going to be music, Persian food and good times.

7.What’s your best motivational tip for getting things done?

Honestly, sometimes it’s the hardest thing to do but I speak to myself kindly, try to take the pressure off that I always put on myself, make a (strong) coffee, a deep breath and just start. It’s never as bad as you think it’s going to be once you’ve started.

8.Which two artists would you most love to witness collaborate on a song?

James Blake and Fred Again.

9.Hottest track in the world right now?

Kyle – I Found You, Fred Again.

10.It’s the last party on earth; the crowd are shouting, “One more tune”. What track do you play as your encore finale?

Obviously my own single, Holla At Me!
