Metal music, bucketlists and oat matcha lattes are alls hot topics with Sarah de Warren in the URPR 10 Questions.

1.Describe your sound in 2 words.

Electronic. Emotional.

2.Is there one song/album or artist from your teenage years which stands out?

The album Toxicity by System of a Down. Especially obsessed with ‘Chop Suey’ and ‘Aerials’ and these songs defined my taste in music for a long time. I actually have a cover of ‘Aerials’ on DSPs 🙂

3.If you had to pick a career in any other music genre except electronic dance music, what genre would that be and why?

Probably metal! I grew up listening to Korn, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Evanescence and I know it sounds crazy but there are a lot of similarities to EDM in the songwriting. I love dark lyrics and melodies. I think I’d be good at it.

 4.What’s on your bucketlist?

Performing my own set at Tomorrowland and EDC Vegas! And having a number one dance record as the primary artist.

5.What is your favourite tour snack?

If it’s allowed to be liquid it would have to be an oat matcha latte.

6.One thing you’re looking forward to this year or one goal you’ve set yourself for the future?

I’m looking forward to writing more for my own project, at the same time as developing my own live set. I’ve loved writing for others but I’m so ready to step forward and release my own music.

7.What’s your best motivational tip for getting things done?

Different times of your daily cycle are better for different types of work. Figure out what yours are. are you more creative in the evenings? If so, don’t force creativity in the morning. I get my boring admin jobs done in the morning right after coffee when I’m super switched on, and I do all my writing and singing later in the day when I’m feeling more intuitive and inspired.

8.Which two artists would you most love to witness collaborate on a song?

Evanescence and Illenium – am i right or am i right?

9.Hottest track in the world right now?

‘DNA’ – Hannah Boleyn and Billie Gillies. Hannah is a good friend of mine and she absolutely crushed this record. It’s blowing up!

10. It’s the last party on earth; the crowd are shouting, “One more tune”. What track do you play as your encore finale?

Swedish House Mafia – ‘Save the World’ would feel appropriate here. I hope I didn’t just pick the exact same song as everyone else! 😅
