AVAION
In just a matter of years, AVAION, otherwise known as Christopher Stein, has become the ultimate testament of a bedroom producer turned globally celebrated multi-platinum artist.
As the sole producer, instrumentalist, singer and songwriter behind his original works, German electronic music artist AVAION in his own words creates “music for dancing or for dreaming, depending how you’re feeling.”
AVAION’s evolutionary artistic journey is laid out in chapters with 2019 single ‘Pieces’ playing first major the plot twist his story so far. The single’s penetrating synths and lyrics that tell of deep overwhelm struck a chord worldwide, firming AVAION as one to watch.
‘Pieces’ out-ranked expectation positioning in the Top 100 Spotify charts in 5 countries, Top 50 Apple Music charts in 16 countries, as well as Billboard Italy and US charts. To date, holds Gold certification in Germany, Hungary, Slovakia and Austria, Platinum in Switzerland and Double-Platinum status in South Africa and continues to resonate worldwide with over 561 million overall audio streams and counting, 177 million streams on Spotify alone.
Recognising the powerful resonance of sonics that are simultaneously melancholic yet uplifting and deeply dance-worthy when paired with his authentically vulnerable, heart-on-sleeve lyrics, AVAION had now found his signature sound.
Singles ‘Sleepless’ with Paul Wetz, Nu Aspect and YUMA, ‘Keep On Dancing’ and ‘Numb’ with Goodboys are amongst the releases that perfectly timestamp this period of creative exploration. A process which did not go unnoticed by the industry with AVAION featuring in Tomorrowland One World Radio’s 20 of 2022 watchlist and becoming the first global dance act in Apple Music’s UP NEXT campaign.
Exhibiting a life of pure conviction to his art form, the immense journey of AVAION would then manifest into debut album Selfreflection in Spring 2024. The 15-track long-player which features fan favourites ‘Pieces,’ ‘Broken’ and ‘Other Side with BUNT. along with a host of new compositions that seamlessly fuse AVAION’s club-orientated sound with his storytelling songwriting proved to be the catalyst for AVAION’s biggest year yet.
To experience Selfreflection in full, AVAION created custom live show For The Vibes for his debut headline European tour and designed with the with the audience at heart. Aiming to intensify the deep human connectivity of his intimate For the Vibes livestream series AVAION swapped the 360° DJ booth for live synths, drum pads and vocals all performed in real-time by only his command.
Now in a live show setting, and on an even grander scale, the For The Vibes Live Tour Spring 2024 exceeded yet again. From the string of sold-out shows across top cities Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Milan and more came moments of pure dancefloor ecstasy which captured live in shots like this, then transcended the online world with viral reaction of over 100 million views across TikTok and Instagram reels.
The summer that followed saw AVAION continue his energised DJ sets at popular European festivals including Electric Love Festival, Open Beatz, Glücksgefühle Festival and making his debut on the Parookaville main stage. Then appearing at Amsterdam Dance Event 2024 and continuing a select run of live shows under For The Vibes Fall Tour 2024.
During the latter Fall tour is where the next plot twist in AVAION’s story is met. To an unsuspecting live crowd he first teased the sounds of ‘Wacuka,’ the debut collaboration of AVAION and Kenyan songstress Sofiya Nzau on Sony Music.
Footage from an AVAION show of party-goers going wild for ‘Wacuka’ blew up online at the end of 2024, reaching over 24million views and demanding for the ID’s official release. Keinemusik’s &ME and Calvin Harris personally DM’d AVAION to show early support. ‘Wacuka’ finally dropped 10th January 2025. Exceeding expectations ‘Wacuka’ stormed over 10 million global streams in the first month, hit #2 Afro House and #9 across all genres on the Beatport charts, airplay from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and Danny Howard, Capital Dance, Diplo’s Revolution on Sirius XM, SLAM FM!, and widespread DJ support from the likes of Tïesto, Keinemusik, Dom Dolla, Marshmello and Martin Garrix.
Rich and rhythmic in Sofiya Nzau’s African influence yet, slick and deeply impactful in production style signature to AVAION, ‘Wacuka’ now readies itself to soundtrack hazy nights on club dancefloor across the globe this summer
