Viennese dynamic duo Melanie Ebietoma and Clements Martinuzzi aka MÖWE have quickly risen to catch the ears of leading forces across the musical landscape. Showcasing charismatic and contrasting personalities in their work since they began their journey back in 2013, their drive to construct a diverse musical output has gone on to attract millions of streams and releases on major record labels across the board.
With Melanie’s rebellious side showcased in her interest in tattoo’s and early influences from being in Indie Rock bands, along with Clements smart, cautious and charming approach – the two make for a unique fusion which has been paramount to their signature sound as a musical duo. Delivering a melting pot of deep and tropical house, pop and electronic characterises, MÖWE’s sound continues to evolve as it stays fresh with each release.
Starting their journey with their debut ‘Blauer Tag’ which put them on the musical map securing a remix from Robin Schulz and amassing over 5.5 million YouTube views, the pair continue to go from strength to strength with each offering. With a proven track record of instantly catchy, infectious grooves alongside impactful, touching lyrics, an impressive release pedigree sees their catalogue of work on imprints such as Armada Music, Universal, Ultra and Spinnin’.
Characterized by their powerful performances alongside artists such as Lost Frequencies, to highlight sets over Amsterdam Dance Event and Ushuaïa Ibiza, MÖWE’s passion for live performance matches a dedication to their craft in the studio. Relishing the opportunity to collaborate and sing live with other talented musicians, their urge to share their talent has led to them working on remixes with the likes of NERVO and John Dahlbäck.
Their culmination of early release success led to their debut album ‘Back In The Summer’ on Armada Music – 16 diverse cuts which perfectly showcase their ability to cross genres and provide listeners with a journey through varied musical landscapes. Highlight tracks on the album included the huge ‘Lovers Friends’, totalling over 14 million streams and a remix from John Dahlbäck, to hit tracks such as ‘Boy Oh Boy’ and ‘Chasing Clouds’.
Adding to their collaboration achievements with remixes for the likes of Hudson Taylor and Moby, their recent huge hit ‘Skyline’ following similar success to their previous offerings with 8 million streams and counting, along with a release coming on November 10th titled ‘One Love’ via disco:wax – MÖWE’s drive to provide listeners with new, unique listening experiences continues to be a driving force in 2017.
